The Dream Team!
At first Mike and I were included in this photo shoot, and then the photographer diplomatically asked, “Can we try a couple without the producers?” Unlike that No Doubt video where the photographers only want to shoot Gwen and the dudes sulk over to the shadows, Mike and I said, “ABSOLUTELY!” and we ran away, relieved.

Dude Korra and Dudette General Iroh, the Younger. Of all the genderbenders this year (and there were a lot), these two were my favorite.
The Fabulous Bending Brothers and *another* plush Pabu in his mascot uniform. (Looks like the exact same one! Maybe it was…?)
AMAZING UNCLE IROH! That’s his daughter as Zuko next to him. She introduced him to the series and talked him into cosplaying. He was really into it though, as anyone willing to carry a tea set around the convention floor has to be.
Katara (this was a popular version this year), Korra with snazzy spindles, and the Obscure Cosplay Award for “That One Equalist Lady In The Audience.”
Man, this gentleman has been carrying the Cabbage Merchant torch higher than anyone for years, now portraying his descendant, Lau Gan-Lan, head of Cabbage Corp. We had to ask who the X-Men character was (answer: Mercury). She was scaring us the whole time she was in line.
One of our biggest fans––literally. You can see how tall he is in the previous shot. Another spectacular costume!
Earth Azula (sung to the tune of “Earth Angel” but in the Locrian mode) and her Dai Li crony. Great costumes!
Petite Mako (SOOOO many women dressed as Mako and Bolin. LOVE IT!) and Battle Katara.
Our buddy Chandler, the publicist for The Track Team. He’s been talking about this Zuko cosplay for ages! Nice work, man!
P.S. I forgot to mention: I love the girl desperately crouching and hiding her face with the “art of” book. HA! She is like that in a few of my shots. She could have just turned the other way, but this technique draws a lot less attention.
EDIT: Oh, yeah! There are TWO girls hiding their faces with the book. I didn’t even notice the second. Maybe it is a good technique for blending into the background. Private detectives have employed it for ages!
