LEIGH BARDUGO: Oh say... did I mention this PANEL OF AWESOME

michaeldantedimartino:

lbardugo:

On June 26th at Barnes & Noble at the Grove in Los Angeles…

MIKE DIMARTINO (Legend of Korra, Avatar: The Last Airbender)

MARIE LU (Legend, Prodigy)

LEIGH BARDUGO (Shadow and Bone, Siege and Storm)

SETH HOFFMAN (The Walking Dead)

hosted by KURT MATTILA of The Big Pull Pod.

We’re…

I’m really looking forward to sharing the panel with these talented folks.  I love Leigh and Marie’s books — they write two of the best YA series out there right now.  And Kurt and I are old pals since back in the RISD days. He also directed the “Avatar Spirits” documentary in addition to many other projects.  Should be a fun night.  If you’re in the LA area on June 26th, you should come by.

The panel starts at 7 PM.

Mike is going to be on this talent-saturated panel of writers, so definitely check it out if you can make it to the Grove in LA on Wednesday, June 26th. I just started reading Leigh Bardugo’s Shadow and Bone. I’m digging it! Leigh and Mike had some entertaining and hilarious discussions on Kurt’s podcast The Big Pull, so I’m sure this panel will be fantastic.

Speaking of panels, we are getting everything ready for San Diego Comic-Con, which is only a month away. In typical fashion, I’m not allowed to announce any specifics yet but I will say that we have a lot planned over more than one day, so hopefully those of you in attendance will be able to take part in one or more of our things that I’m not allowed to announce! Looking forward to seeing (many of) you there!

I’m back on the blog with a post about the upcoming Korra soundtrack.

Mike has a great post about the storytelling aspect of Jeremy’s scores on his WordPress blog… I believe the young people say “after the jump,” or something. I say, “click that View Post thing.”

michaeldantedimartino:

I’m excited to announce my new blog, which is mainly focused on story — why we need it and why it matters.  I invite you to check out my first ever “real” blog post.  If you enjoy what you read, I hope you share with others. I’d love to create a community of readers who love stories and want to explore with me as I try to figure out why some work and some don’t, and how story can be a way to see ourselves and our world in a different way.

I am incredibly lucky to work with Mike for a multitude of reasons, not only because he is one of my best friends, but also because he is one of my favorite writers. I am also excited that he is excited to announce his new blog about story. I’ve already learned something from his first two posts! I hope you will check it out too.

Mike and I finished up the last of the Korra Book 1 DVD commentary sessions with Seychelle Gabriel (Asami) and Janet Varney (Korra) this morning. Hope you guys enjoy them! We have a lot of fun recording them.
